Asked by Stacyskariot Mar 25, 2019 at 08:11 AM about the 2005 Ford Explorer XLT Sport V6 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok so my o/d light is flashing again. Last time this
happened a few weeks ago I took it to AutoZone
and here are the codes it stored. I was told the
previous owners mechanic bypassed the cooling
system at least that's what was explained to me
..I'm a single mom of 4 a d used all my savings for
this vehicle..anyone shed any light? Another code
was a transmission overheat as well as lean bank

Its possible the transmission is running to hot bring down the temperature sensor voltage too low. Could also be a short to ground on the signal wire coming from the computer. it runs a 5 volt signal wire and when the trans fluid is cold the computer sees high voltage as the fluid heats up this voltage slowly gets pulled down.. like an engine coolant temp sensor
