Idle high

Asked by Jul 12, 2017 at 12:11 PM about the 2005 Ford Explorer Limited V6 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 2005 explorer4x4. I dont know if im having
tranny probs or something else. But when i take off
it revs high like I've floored the accelerator but
once it shifts through all gears everything is ok. It
shifts through gears fine with know jerk motion.
Any suggestions

might be a dirty throttle body and or IAC or Idle Air Control Valve. Clean it up good. Check youtube on how to do it. Use only throttle body cleaner found at your auto parts store.
