What doesn't my fuel pump get any power ?

Asked by Nov 09, 2015 at 11:47 PM about the 2004 Ford Mustang Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My engine stopped turning on and after a diagnosis we find out it's because
there was no fuel going to the engine. I first replace the fuse and nothing. I
then bought a brand new fuel pump and nothing again. I bought a brand new
Ccrm(fuelpumprelay) from the dealer and still nothing.  My fuel pump works
because it was tested before we installed it. But when we install it it won't
turn on. Can any body help me ?
It's for a 2004 Mustang V6 3.9l

The fuel pump only runs for a few seconds when the key is first turned on, it won't run again until the engine starts ///. With every thing off in the car,,so it's quiet .. turn your key on and you should hear the pump run for just a few seconds then stop ~~

did you check for power going to the pump?

@Tom I've turned the key all the way and only the engine jumps but the fuel pump doesn't squirt nothing out or even make a noise

@jamnblues There's no power going to the pump I'm trying to figure out why.
