Ford mustang cam
I have a 87 camed mustang and it will start rightt
up, but after running it and shut it off to say like get
gas. When i try to turn the car back on it sounds
like the battery is totally dead, it will barly turn over,
but if i give it 20 30 mins, it will start right up. I have
asked around people told me it was because there
was to much pressure in my piston to turn over,
they said the pressure has to release. Is this true?
If so how can i fix ?
Overheated starter is the first thing that comes to mind, but I have seen a few of these have a bad ignition module that can cause this, next time it does it disconnect the spout connector and see if it starts, if it does then replace the ignition module and distributor pickup unit in the distributor and recheck the base timing, disconnect the spout connector and check the timing reset if necessary, plug the spout connector back in. If it still acts the same way then run a voltage drop on the cables and if they check good then replace the starter, and get a good brand of starter. HTH
