So i have a 88 Mustang GT, AOD transmission, that wont go into reverse but sounds like it is in gear. I was going to back out of my friends drive way and it wouldnt go anywhere so i put it in neutral

First thing to do is check the transmission fluid level. If it's ok, is the shifter cable broken? Check that next. If this checks out as well you're probably looking at replacing the transmission. HTH. -Jim
