I have a 1989 mustang 5.0, the other day i accidentally left my headlights on and killed the battery. After jump starting, car now is sputtering and wants to stall out some times. what could this be?

also, the volt guage is showing low volts. could the battery

Check your alternator,if not bad battery.

Or the battery is very low on voltage, jump starting it sometimes won't let the car stay running since it isn;t charged up enough. Charge it up/trickle charger or replace.
