About my ford five hundred

I got new battery and alternator from junk yard and
when my uncle had hook my battery up they cross
the wires on the old battery when I drive it my dash
board keep jumping off and on and plus he had cut
my wires hook up to the battery can u tell me the
problem

It would help to see a picture of the battery & the wires he cut, in the same pic, please.
