No brake lights on 2007 Ford Explorer

Asked by Aug 10, 2015 at 12:57 AM about the 2007 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

No power going to the 3 brake lights nor the trailer hitch when testing.  Have turn signals
and flashers but no brake lights at all.  The brake switch under the pedal is fine.
Everything seemed fine on the multiswitch located on the column.  All the related fuses
have been checked.  What are we missing?

I take it you check the brake switch and found voltage at the switch. I also assume you removed the switch and checked it with a meter to make sure it works. Without a specific wiring diagram for you vehicle you are going to have to trace the wire from the point where you have power, along the wire, to the point where it is broken or damaged, or at a junction where wires come together.
