Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The blower fan works, the vent selector works, it's just when I turn the thermostat on
toward hot, it makes a noise in the dash board like something is trying to open but then
closes and no heat is produced, only blows cold air.

The actuator motor is probably stripped. It's made with plastic gears. You are probably hearing a click - click - click. I believe it is buried way up in the dash. If it is like the 2003, the entire dash has to be removed to get to it. Probably around 600 or so bucks to replace a 50 buck part. There is a finagle using a long plastic wire-tie. It's not pretty but not spending 600 bucks is beautiful. Check the internet.
