Will not start or crank

Asked by Aug 17, 2019 at 10:21 PM about the 2007 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yesterday I was trying to diagnose my sisters 07
Explorer.I was cranking it and was not firing, but
smelled gas.I let it sit a few, then tried again. All
the dash lights came on then it clicked as if the
battery was dead. The code of P2196 tells me a
misfire. So charge the battery and change the
plugs and wires, everyone of the plugs I pulled out
were wet with gas. Now I try starting it again and
it acts like the battery is dead(all the lights come
on,I hear the fuel pump,I turn the key then
click, dash lights go out.) So I try jumping it and
again click. I know someone out there knows
exactly what's going on with this pos. Plz help me.
My sister needs transportation not does she have
enough money to get it figured out.
