I own a 2007 Ford Escape and door ajar goes off and the dome lights flicker off and on.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The door ajar seems to go off only on the right side of the vehicle so i know where the
problem is and how do i fix that? Ive tried doing the DW40 trick and slamming the door
to turn it off and it worked only around November of last year till about December. And
the dome lights seem to flicker off and on alot. I dont drive my vehicle alot and it
flickers when myself and my neighbors sit outsides and i believe it leads to my battery
in my car draining. So please any help would be very much appreciated.

Did you try the WD-40 again? If you did and that doesn't work, you might have to replace the latch assembly on that door.

Yes Ive tried using the WD40 several times and it did work from nov-dec and that was it and it says door is ajar when no one but myself enters vehicle and dome light flickers on and off through out the day
