why does the navigation system in my 2007 equinox say disk read error and I can't get the disc out it freezes up I try to use the navigation
cause it needs to be reloaded. but dont ask me how to get the disk out.
Disconnect the battery for a few moments and it might reset.
Worse case is there is a part that is bad inside the unit and it needs to be replaced. Try to see if it can be reset or if there is a upgrade or re-flash to reset it. A trip to the dealer may be the best bet. Try the battery thing, but you will lose mast of your setting on the radio I think.
Solution 1: Put the key into the ignition and turn to position 1 or 2. Go to the nav computer and press and hold the eject button. The button will flash while pressed, and you must keep hold of the eject button for about 3 minutes. You'll notice that eventually the light on the eject button will stop flashing. As soon as you see this let go of the button, and press it again quickly. The CD will hopefully eject. Solution 2: Remove the power to the nav unit (either by disconnecting the battery or removing the cables from the back of the uint) and then reapply power while holding down the eject button.
