Is there a minimum for credit check and can I be
approved working under the table? I would be
getting a car around 5k and pay half up front

Check with the dealer or bank your financing through. You need good credit in most cases. Working under the table doesn't help as there is no documented history of income.


No lender will fiance a car without a proven job history.

I have done financing with those without or poor credit. The down payment is good! You can get financing with some lenders not buy here pay here if you can prove income another way besides check stubs. You will need to provide statements sometimes showing that you have a steady flow that is in line with your income. A letter or call to your boss will be done to confirm employment. At least a six month job in most cases and proof of residence now verified by even a piece of mail in your name to that address. Get ready for a big interest rate those I have helped in you position always gets charged with 24%. Good luck hope it helps.
