Oil light

C'mon Ed. Even you know that changing the oil does not make the oil light come. Before paying for tow trucks he/she needs to do the obvious. Check the oil level. If its full then I'd suspect a faulty sending unit or a problem with the oil pump. If its super low then look underneath for signs of a leak. Maybe the oil filter is loose or even the drain plug not properly installed. If that's the case then yes, the one doing the oil change may be at fault. If there's no leaks there's a more serious problem somewhere which likely requires the expertise of a repair shop. Now it might be time to call a tow truck.

Didn't mean to be so hard on you Ed. I figure anyone who drives a car should at least be able to do the basics like check the oil level and look underneath for signs of a major leak. I think that's the sort of guidance they may have been seeking. Without doing at least that a call to the oil change place or even having it towed somewhere doesn't seem like it would be productive. Hopefully all this discussion will give them something to work with. I appreciate your contributions to this site.
