When and why is it necessary to replace the brake fluid in a 1997 Acura CL

Asked by Jun 09, 2013 at 05:08 PM about the 1997 Acura CL 3.0 Premium FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

According to the original manual from Acura, this changing of the brake fluid should be done at the 200,000k mark. I have 228,000k on mine and wonder if that is necessary.

Yes, brake fluid breaks down. If you already had it changed when you did a brake job it might not be necessary now.
