TMPS System what is the battery life, I have a 2007 Cayman S the rear tire psi went
blank then after few days the front, is this battery issue or something major with the
sensor malfunctioning. If I replace the sensors at a tire shop will the system reset on its
Battery life ranges from 5 to 8 years, anything after that is just pure luck.
The system will have to be reset, that info should be in your owners manual.
Don't get the replacements through Porsche, they will charge upwards of $600 per wheel. You can buy all 4 sensors elsewhere for around $100 each, then get any good tire shop to replace them. Then follow the reset procedure in the handbook.
Take the sensors out or ignore the light. Then check your tire pressure regularly, say one a month at least. This is one case of when technology has gone awry.
Your batteries would be about 7 years old at this point. It could be that your only issue is the batteries. But it also may be cheaper to just buy new sensors.
