What would cause coolant to dump out of expansion tank only when i shut engine off? I have checked everything while engine is idling and do not see any leaks. could a faulty radiator cap be the cause

Wait, I think I jumped to a conclusion. Dumps out of reservoir? Remember if this is a system with a radiator cap, then an overflow tank, the tank should be only about ¼ to ½ full cold. If it has a pressurized reservoir tank, there is another problem
