What is the s button for in the jaguar X type

What is the s button for in the jaguar X type I had it in a collision shop and when I picked it up the S light was ON I don't know if someone accidently hit the button or what???

Its the button that puts your car Into sport mode, it keeps the revs up. Should ask the collision shop if they decided to race your car and see their reaction

The S is your sports mode I woukd not run in that mode all the time. I only run it when i need a little more power on the highway. You can hear the difference as well. However theres a whole technical trim side to this mode, I will not begin to explain cause I am n i t an expert on this subject.
