I got a 1988 Pontiac feiro and I am having trouble
getting the serpentine belt on after getting a new
one and was wondering if anyone had a good idea
to getting it on

The make a tool to aid in getting the serpentine belt on. Go to the parts store and ask what they have.

A breaker bar and socket on the tensioner pulley. HTH. -Jim
