How much transmission Fluid should there be in a 2002 C5 corevette Automatic

Asked by May 14, 2014 at 06:08 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the radiuator after  a huge front end accident.  I picked this Vette up from
an Insurance Auction site.  The front end  took a good smack.  Onjce I got all the outer
bumper off and all the messed up pieces that were damaged beyond repair.  I decided
to go with and after market transmission cooler .  The first one I put in leaked a lot .
So I have no idea to be able to guess how much fluid to put back into the transmission
before the service for the transmission can be done.     What was recover when I
diconnected the lines and what was drained from the  transmission radiator IUL bought
is a little over a quart.  So I then took my compressor to remove any fluid left in the
tranny.  I would pressure up on side and they did nothing (in both directions)

Love that model sorry it got hurt. If the engine runs, initially put 3-4 quarts run the engine and fill to the dipstick full when hot mark. really hard to tell if the converter is low until it runs. I don;t like after market parts and I find Ecklers.com reasonable enough Pleanty of good vette parts out there
