I think you may be getting ripped off, is there any reason to do so much work on the car?? I would expect the rotors and pads to need replacing (padsroughly 2 years and rotors depending on their wear once every 4-5 years). Unless traction control, abs and so forth have actually failed I would take it to a different garage...

For a car that is only 5 years old, a second opinion is a good recommendation. You did not say how many miles you had on the current discs and rotors but they are probably in need of replacement if they are worn out. That could run as much as $2000 but it might be far less if only pads (and not rotors) are needed. As for the ABS and traction control, they are related and typically use the same pumps and sensors. However, unlesss you are getting a warning light telling you that the systems are not functioning, nothing should required to be done.

Sounds like someone is trying to make enough off of you to take a very nice vacation. Take it to several places for a quote, including the Toyota dealer.
