MY TRUCK STARTED SHIFTING A HIGH RPMS AT ABOUT 2ND GEAR. THEN EVENTUALLY  THE
SERVICE ENGINE CAME ON AND IT STARTED SHIFTING HARD?

Sounds like a shift solenoid in the transmission. Have the computer scanned to be sure. Most auto parts stores will do it for free. HTH. -Jim
