car won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

after adjusting my valves I had trouble reconnecting the black hose linked to the valve cover and air filter cover so I disconnected the smaller hose that loops over the middle (it's metal in that area), now my car won't start. I thought this smaller hose was a gas line but now I'm not sure....picture provided. it started previous to this that's why I think my problem stems from messing with this line...what is it?

You need to connect all hoses up that were connected before or you will have a vacuum leak. Will it cause your car not to start? Maybe not, recheck all your connections again.
