how do I activate the4 wheel drive...no manual

bought the vehicle and later realized there is no manual..help plz

well it depends on the 4wd system that your commander uses. it is most likely an automatic system named quadra-trac II. this system is computer controlled and involves 0 driver input at all. it is automatically engaged when the main drive wheels start to slip. newer jeeps have been geared for better on road performance than offroad performance. for example they removed the 4wd low. and the gear reduction transfercase.
