how do you replace the cable on the door latch on a 2007 kia spectra

It is usually a rod that goes from the door handle to the door latch. Most of the time the rod stretches, and just need to be bent back to take up the slop with the rod so it pulls one the door latch. You have to take the door panel off to do this.
