The higher price tag for the V6 won't stop at the dealership - it will follow you to the gas station for each fillup. This simple comparison may help. Smaller Engine = Better fuel economy, Lower performance Larger Engine = Better performance, Lower fuel enconomy

the 4 cyl only has about 15 hp less and has a timing chain insted of a belt. So the 4cyl doesn't give up much in performance and is cheaper to maintain

I have a V6 and it's gutless, I mean I go for more pistons if I want a smother engine and more power, it really has neither.. I'd go for the better gas millage and get the I-4.
