I just bought an almost new mar and loud creaks and bumping sounds come from the front.at low speeds
When driving around at slowish speeds even the slightest uneven road surface or bumps cause loud creaks and bumps from the lower, front area, and also slight turns of the steering wheel cause creaking sounds. Is this all from the stiff body and suspension or does this car have a real problem?
I believe this is occurring because your car has a stiff body and suspension. The 2008 2007 Saab 9-3 convertible's ride is fairly stiff, with pronounced kicks over bumps
My saab does the same :) and its fitted with "sport chassi " , (Vector) . The suspension is much harder to make it better in corner in much higher speed. Dont worry to much about it , just rember to keep a low speed over bump and holes in the road! The creaking sound's may come from the "radial axel" and should be checked out at a SAAB garage.. if you'r car is not more then 3 years it should be a garantie case if its a problem with it.
It happens more when its cold out but can happen when its warm out, Its caused by the busings on the control arm, and the sway bar. The factory uses a type a grease that isnt water soluble. you could either rip them apart and change/grease the bushings or just spray them with a little lithium grease
it can also be the top of the strut where the spring is seated, usualy with performance suspension
