Is the 2006 Range Rover Sport HSE a good first car!? With a little over 92k miles on it and priced a little over $13k good deal or bad deal?
Nope. Out my way those move slowly on the lots, I have seen quite a few of them in the scrap yards with anything from failed engines to bizarre electrical problems, check the reviews, you will see what I mean. I know I wouldn't take one even if it was given to me.
@tennisshoes what nice used suv would you prefer for a first-time driver?
The Lexus RX or Toyota series is good for a Luxury SUV, and about the only import I would even think about if I was to buy another one. If you want American metal, then Try GMC Yukon series, if your looking for something Ford then it is the Expedition or Lincoln Navigator.
@tennisshoes what do you think of the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited?
Jeeps can be a bit if a problem child, I know I've got a Grand Cherokee Limited, had to have the tranny redone due to a fault in one of the internal snap rings at 30K miles, then there's the blend doors, air bag clockspring, not mention the recalls, but it's the wife's and she likes it. Jeeps tend to drive a bit different than other 4X4's and the wrangler is no exception, if you can get a good deal on one and you have it checked over by a shop before you buy, you should be good to go.
What year is your Jeep grand Cherokee
02 135K miles
I had a 2006 RRSC and it ran like new up to 150k miles when I sold it for 18k. I know this is not the norm as my ex-wife just had her engine blow up on hers due to water pump failure. Pretty much if you make sure your maintenance is good on it they will treat you well. I bought it new though and I knew exactly how it treated. That said my ex-wife purchased a used 2010 RRSC it checked out and she got and extended warranty. The water pump failed and the engine popped on a road trip and it was not covered. Sucks to be her.
Actually never mind..... I didn't realize this was for a sport. run far away!
