My 2004 landrover freelander se 2.5L V6 camshaft got broken and badly affected the engine. Will a similar home used engine be compatible with it.?

My mechanic working on the car advised it will cost much more to rebuild the
engine than to place order for a used engine. will a replace engine be
compatible with it.?

A replacement used engine will be identical to the one currently in your rover. Tell the mechanic to replace both front and rear timing belts before dropping in the used engine.
