well...let's hope you haven't been running this way long...because you aren't going to run long if this condition persists...Number one (did you check the coolant level? should be "full hot" on the translucent overfill jug when hot~ next, let's look at the underside of the hood to find evidence of a prior overheat...and subsequent destruction of this engine by refilling with tap water or hose water from the station and not the proper 50/50 glycol mix~...so unless you've got good coolant flow you will continue to get the HOT ENGINE reminder....bad flow can be caused by RUST like I'm suggesting that some prior mechanic of your overheat failed to replace the water...or a choked off radiator...or a waterpump so corroded that there aren't any fins left...at any rate, have your cooling system tended to...fresh thermostat and any needed hoses and fill with the correct juice....bruce~
so....choked radiator...temperature can't come down because air flow is not bringin' the temp down....sludgy~
