Rear drums not working, front brakes work fine.

Asked by Nov 01, 2014 at 03:29 PM about the 1991 Chevrolet Caprice Base Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I apply pressure to the brake pedal, I have no rear brakes. The fronts seem to be
working fine. I just replaced shoes, & found that the springs & self adjusters were in
backwards on the right rear. Everything is in correctly now, but still don't have rear brakes.
Any ideas?

Rear brake hoses and Proportioning valve would be the first things I would check if there is absolutely no fluid getting to the rear brakes, if there is fluid then there is a problem with the wheel cylinders.
