Alarm sets off on its own after locking the vehicle.
For the past 2 days, my minivan sets off its alarm on its own after 15 min of
locking all the doors. This is quite annoying and a great inconvenience to
neighbors. I can't find answers to it in the OM. Any help is greatly appreciated.
One or more of the sensor switches has failed, it will take a professional to find out how many of them are malfunctioning, it is usually the drivers but the others can go away also. So take it to a shop you trust and have it checked over. HTH
Hello, I was able to resolve the issue by simply replacing the remote fob button cells (2 x CR 2016). Although there is no mention in the OM or any alerts on the dash, the problem got resolved as soon as I changed the batteries. I hope this helps other Chrysler minivan owners before having to spend serious money at the dealership who might probably do the same thing without telling the customer. Good Luck and thanks to all who responded.
Odd there is usually there is a warning saying remote battery low. I know there is on both of my rigs. 01 maybe it just under the build date to get it. Glad it was something simple.
Thanks HTH, it was resolved very easily but not without its fair share of annoyance and irritation. :)
