Can i remove cadilac converter town country 2001
Do you have the right tools to do so? Are you replacing with a new one? If you are asking if you can remove it, just because, check with your local municipality and State rules on running a car without one.
what exactly do you want to convert on your Cadilac town and country spec, what you mean is the catalytic convertor, by removing this the automobile will not pass any emissions tests when being inspected for roadworthiness. although an angle grinder either side of it will easily remove and fill the gap with some steel tube, you have been warned
Man if I could get a Cadillac converter, I could change all my cars to Cadillacs. On second thought that may not be a good idea.
It is illegal to remove the catalytic converter, without replacing it, in all 50 United States. Your vehicle will never pass an emissions inspection and the check engine or service engine soon light will always be on. If yours needs replacing, price a universal catalytic converter. They're much cheaper than a direct fit catalytic converter and just as good. If you have California Emissions you'll need a special one for your vehicle. Check the emissions decal under the hood. If it says either "conforms to California Emissions standards" or "is C.A.R.B. compliant" you have California Emissions. I replaced the catalytic converter on my 2000 Grand Prix with a universal one in 2013 and have had no issues with it to date. HTH. -Jim
