Is input shaft or solenoid pack or transaxle gasket responsible for transmission fluid leakage
Please help. I own a 2001 T&C with 114K miles on it to date. December 2009, had
the transmission replaced and drove fine till January 2011. Noticed significant
hesitation from the transmission on cold start after a few minutes warm up,
followed by a sound similar to the vehicle in motion but stationary. Took van in
for routine oil change and tech guy came back with a trans fluid leakage traced to
transaxle gasket. I returned to dealership for transmission replacement warranty
service. Upon inspection, they came back with external trans issues, namely, input
shaft and solenoid pack to be replaced. I'm at a crossroad between the dealership
and the oil change facility diagnosis. Fearful of dealership repair scam and or
inadequate diagnosis from the oil change shop, I wonder if this is a familiar issue
and any suggestions/recommendations before committing to any form of repair,
without getting ripped off or simply ignoring a serious problem
