Car starts but rpm gies up and down for about 5 sec, on WARM only.

Asked by Mian Jan 02, 2020 at 07:17 PM about the 2007 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Apologies in advance, as i can cannot explain
this weird thing going on with my car,
2007 Toyota Camry , LE, 2.4L

I work as a delivery pizza driver , so im driving
around a lot , and shuting my car off and then
back on often. Recent ally, after the first start
(COLD) , it is fine , but once it gets warm ,
sometimes when i go to start, it takes a extra
couple seconds cranking then starts, but
suddenly it sounds as if it is going to stall but
it doesn't, it goes back up in rpm then low
again , and then high rpm. It does this for a
couple of seconds and stops but sometimes
does not stop . I then have to shut it off and
back on and its fine .

I have done a tune up , spark plugs , changes
cam and crank sensor , the MAF sensor looks
fine .

Also , before i had the crank and cam sensor
changed , the car would do this behavior but
shut off every time .

Pls lmk , i be at this for a couple weeks now.

Try pts position throttle sensor... I took mine to shop today come to find out a little hose is missing on top of the motor. Which is letting air out... It could be some worn out hoses. But I know I need to change my pts but the one I got from AutoZone made my car die out every second so in most cases a aftermarket piece wont work.. I'll have to get it from manufactur and I'm not ready for the price!!
