I have 1992 GMC light duty 2500 with a 5.0 liter that is shot. (400,000 miles) I also have a 1998 4.3 vortex engine in great condition. Ouestion: Can I replace the 5.0 with the 4.3?

No. The 1992 model is OBD I. The '98 model is OBD II. They're completely different computer command control systems. HTH. -Jim
