Runs beautifully smooth when it runs. cranks but does not 'catch'/start, then
crews up starter. Replace starter and coil and it runs for a week and then
won't again, and starting to realize I will eat up another starter if I don't stop but
thought I'd ask before I chew up another starter! It won't start with ether either.

check flex plate teeth. could be worn and starter not catching. slips and grinds?
