A knocking sound usually means a bad or broken rod, but not being able to listen to it myself first thing I would do is check your oil and anti-freeze levels. Then I would take it to a REPUTABLE mechanic
Did you ever fibd out what it was because my 94 chevy Silverado 5 7 is now doing the sane thing. L.B.
