how does igntion system work on 93 5.7
93 k1500 w/5.7 engine. New bosch fuel pump, filter, cap, rotor, wires and plugs. Engine cranks fine but will not start without ether. Will start fine if it doesn't sit for more than 2 hours.
OBD 1 system may have a sensor sending the wrong signal to the ECM, sometimes a code check will catch it but don't count on it, the sensors will have to be checked one at a time to find thee one that is giving the misread. ACT, ECT and sometimes an MAP sensor will give you a no start when hot, but you could also have some bad grounds that can also cause your trouble. I am assuming that you have already checked the fuel pressures and flow rates hot. That will show how to do it and even has a code listing.
will follow troubleshooting for sensors and report. It usually starts fine after first start of the day, as long as it doesn't sit for more than two hours. Does the pickup in distributor control spark or injectors under 400 rpms? Thank you for your help.
Yes, it pickup any pulse even if it is slow or fast, on the GM system you can make the spark fire by just spinning the distributor if you have it out of the engine and grounded with the key on, so cranking no speed it not very critical for firing.
