My truck starts really rough in the morning but not so bad during the day

sounds like the choke mabe not working right. Or the eccelorator pump in the carb is getting bad and letting the gas leak back down. I would check the choke first

Or just may just need a simple tune up disb cap and rotor plug wires and plugs

and a fuel filter and air cleaner filter

1994 should be fuel injected, it is possible that you may have leaking injectors, when it is first started does it blow black smoke out of the tailpipe for a short period of time? You might have the codes pulled, there could be something in memory that would help with diagnosis. like a temp sensor or air charge sensor.
