Plugs, wires,cap, rotor replaced 3 months
ago. 500 plus to a tank!
Then I changed my fuel sending unit and
pump and fuel filter.
No gas leaks anywhere.
Actual question is that I am now only
getting 260-280 kms to 3/4 of a full tank!!!!
Why is that?
tps, removed tbi disassembled cleaned
and replaced fuel line rings into tbi.
All gaskets and rings on tbi where in
perfect shape so reused.
Getting even good spray from both
Code 32(egr) is my only code to come up.
I don't have a cattilac converter in truck so
was told I could delete egr.
417,000km on truck
Had a 305 but was replaced with a 350 by
a previous owner.
No don't do an EGR delete, the EGR actually dumps exhaust gasses back into the intake to slow down fuel combustion to help elemanate the engine fuel ping, without the EGR the knock sensor will detect an engine pond and send a signal to the computer and in turn the computer will retard timing to help stop the ping, so retarded timing reduces power, so you then need more fuel to make more power, more fuel makes more pinging so more timing reduction, around you go in a circle of cause and effect. Get the code fixed, make sure the timing is dead on, and then see what happens.
Neglected to add in that I deleted my EGR 5 years ago and have not had any real issues until recently. I will take your advice and give it a try. Would there be any other options after this to try if replacement and timing don't work?
Then you may have to find a shop that has some of the old GM OBD 1 units that can do sensor checking, it is possible that a sensor is sending the incorrect signal to the computer causing it to runa richer mixture or not go into closed loop.
