Have a 97 K1500....tranny wont shift unless I pop the accelerator...a short distance drive is fine, well kinda, wont shift up on freeway...tried manually shifting with no success...stayed in low gear...Im thinkin shift solenoids...leaning towards replacing all of them...is this a good plan?

not sure what size tranny is...anybody know the service code? could just go to dealer.

Go to. Fullsizechevy.com search 97 transmission codes. There will be a list of codes 4L60E has 2 more additional codes that will be listed below the main list, the list applies to both the 4L60E and 4L80E Replacing the solenoids is a good idea as they do fall under the high fail category, replace the filter while your there. HTH
