I have a 1999 chevy silverado z71 k 1500 4 by 4 and it is the 98 body style. My ? Is how many were made?
Check your vehicle identification number. That will give you the correct model year. Vehicles are produced from July/August through July/August for a given model year. Example: my '78 Cadillac Eldorado was built in August of '77 but it still was a '78 model. If your truck was built in say November of '98 it's still a '99 model. HTH. -Jim
in 99 there was your truck, the C1500 or k1500(4x4) and there was the silverado. The silverado is the next generation chevy truck. Whenever you buy parts just get them for a 99 chevy k1500 not SIlverado
Haha I just bought a C/K 1500 Z71 the other day and was wondering the same thing. Will the vin give you the model year or the year it was made? And as far as parts I would just say be very careful. This is the last C/K made so make sure you look for that and not the others.....
Yes, the VIN will tell you the model year. It's the 10th character. The production date will be on the sticker located on the driver's front door. HTH. -Jim
You're welcome. Glad to help. - Jim
This is actually part of the c/k classic line from Chevy. They made them from 99-01 half ton only 99 all of which could have a Silverado option. The last years that Chevy put a 350 in as well as the 454
it's a cool truck just don't drive with your watch on as it can get caught in the steering wheel
