Oh yeah they have beeen around since the 1980's and the 1990 Cadillac Brougham powered by the Oldsmobile 5.0L V8 LV2 engine was the last carbureted passenger car manufactured for sale in the North American market without an ECM

OR ECU is correct use, M is Module..same thing

Yes, GM began using the computer command control system in 1981. Cadillac had it back as far as the mid-70s on fuel injected models. Very primitive, but it was there. - Jim
