What would cause my 1995 chevy k2500 to stall when shifting from park to drive?

just put a new crate motor in my 1995 chevy k2500.  new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, oxygen sensor, engine idle control. truck idles erratically.  idles about 800 rpms but drops to 500 or blow and stalls when shifting from park to drive

Sounds like a vacuum leak in the engine and don't forget to check the vacuum line to the vacuum modulator on the trans.
