so my poor jeep tj engine blew the garage we always go to is quoting 8000$ to rebuild the
engine i think that its a little overboard and they are trying to rip me off anyone know of the
average price to rebuild an engine

Rebuilding is always more than replacing due to the labor involved. Is this a off-road vehicle with special parts being installed? A daily driver? A remanufactured engine (jasper) removed and reinstalled is $3-5K. Like the Judge mentions, a used motor is an option to save some coin.
