Why the car wont start without putting gas in the carburetor

Fuel pump

Could be. Remove the gas cap and put your ear close to the gas cap. Have a helper turn the ignition to the run position. You should hear the fuel pump run for about 3 seconds. If not check that the fuel pump relay is getting power. If so, replace it. They're cheap. If this doesn't solve the problem, fuel pump is bad. HTH. -Jim
