How do I remove the ignition key cylinder from the alloy assembly?

Asked by Jun 22, 2017 at 06:06 PM about the 1998 Buick Regal 4 Dr LS Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've removed the airbag, steering wheel, and made it to the (2) torks screws
holding the aluminum alloy assembly in place. After several hours I still can't
get the cylinder out of the aluminum assembly. Is there a trick to this? I even cut
off the plastic protector ring that keeps all the wires in the right place.
