Right and left blinkers

Asked by pheivly Jun 20, 2016 at 04:29 PM about the 2002 Buick LeSabre Custom Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When turning on right blinker - works good from the front.  In the rear, both
right blinker and left blinker and the brake light flash at normal rate.  Same
thing happens with left blinker - all fine in front, but rear lights look like the
emergency lights are on.

The multifunction switch is a known failure part. Try and get to the three plugs running down the steering column and clean/reseat them for good connections. See it that works, if not, you may need to replace it. Be careful around the steering column circuitry, so as to not trip the airbag circuit (causing airbag to deploy). That could hurt. Lol.
