Smoke comes from under hood and smells of anti-freeze sporadically. Can see moisture leak evidence at right side of engine after episode. Mechanics are not seeing an issue. What could this be?

Definitely a coolant leak, might be the water pump, hose or radiator. Have your mechanic perform a pressure test on the system to pinpoint the leak.
